richmond line study / i’m home for the holidays

derived from a collection of pictures whilst location scouting for a photoshoot in 2023

missing the chaos that is richmond ballet’s nutcracker that i PA’d last year. i’m missing the backstage giggles, bows made of tieline, and communal lunches. listening to nothing but tchaikovsky and imogen heap. what a time.

identity crisis and not knowing where to go. made this during a lil cast party for @jjoy1111 senior project “this here must be now”. i was struggling a lot with sense of self and presence. with how to be happy with where i was whilst i was there. constantly pining for “what’s next”. wanting to fly away. thinking the internet or new york would solve my problems. LOL

today is a very important thursday…throwback thursday 🤓 day of reflection equals love for L.O.V.E. ! 🫶

L.O.V.E. takes the all too familiar experience of hyper-perfectionism in the dance community and puts that in the context of “the romantic relationship.” wouldn’t we enjoy it more if we relaxed a little? or are you just paying too close attention to the wrong things? what should i do when the patterns keep repeating? should we just take a break? are my standards too high? or are they too low?
from one extreme to the other, that’s where L.O.V.E. lives.
